UI/UX Design

Meditation and Mood-Tracking App

Project Overview
This app combines two apps popular in the mental health space: a mood tracker and a meditation app. Mood tracking will send a user to a page that offers them various meditation tracks relevant to the mood they are currently experiencing, and encourages the user to return to the app with a cute UI and earned badges. This project's duration was about 6 weeks.
My Contributions
Outside of my day job, I have spent the majority of my time on this project, which included researching competitors, creating illustrations, wireframing, and prototyping. I sought feedback from both personal friends and members of forums and online groups.

Here's what I ended up creating.

Reflection
In this second project of mine, I learned a lot of about balancing artistic effects and usability. I was heavily inspired to make an app that felt calming, warm, and comforting for users, but also understood that ease of use still needs to be forefront. I also wanted to include features like achievements, stats, and mood logging that look unique and/or inspire users to return, without creating pressure or overwhelm in a wellness app. In some of my research, I think I have been doing too much finding data to support the ideas I am excited about, so going forward, I want to heavily prioritize allowing research to guide my decisions, not the other way around.

I hope you enjoyed this project. Thank you to everyone who offered feedback and support. Please reach out with any questions or further critique; I am always open to discussing design!

Thank you!
